Resilient floors feature some «give» or elasticity when walked across.

Resilient floors are often utilized in bathrooms and kitchens due to their durability, their ascetically pleasing looks with a variety of colours and textures and their resilience to moisture.

While resilient floors are easily cleaned, you do need to watch out for grit and sand that can penetrate into the floor’s surface.  (Don’t worry, we’ll tell you how to maintain them in the Maintenance section.)

Regardless of your resilient floor choice, you will find a world full of stylish options that come with high performance and astounding value.

The options are endless when it comes to customizing your look.  Try customizing your floor by mixing and contrasting colours.  Don’t forget you can also install your flooring in medallions, curved cuts, or even a patchwork style.   The options are endless!

Now, some resilient floors are vinyl but not all vinyl floors are resilient. However, the most common type of resilient flooring is vinyl, which is why most of the sections in this part of the website are labeled Vinyl.

There are two types of vinyl flooring: sheet vinyl and vinyl composition tiles (VCT).

For our purposes here, and throughout the rest of the sections, we will refer to sheet vinyl simply as vinyl, or vinyl flooring.

VCT comes is a wide spectrum of colours, is versatile and shares many of the same advantages to vinyl.

Spare vinyl composition tiles can be kept on hand to repair worn areas, and the VCT format opens up unlimited possibilities for creating your own unique patterns.

However, vinyl flooring also offers you many tempting advantages.

In fact, vinyl flooring offers you the most options in terms of selection, styling, ease of maintenance and value as a vinyl floor!

Advancements in technology has lead to great strides in vinyl, changing them forever.

Vinyl flooring can now realistically emulate the textures and feel of ceramic, wood grain and stone patterns.

The textures achieved make it difficult for most people to tell whether it’s the real thing or not. Who needs to know, right?

Finally, a note about linoleum, which is not a resilient flooring but the one you probably associate with as the original kitchen and bath flooring.

While linoleum is enjoying a minor revival, the most popular floor covering material in this category is vinyl.

But never fear, we want you to know about linoleum, and cork, rubber and specialty resilient flooring.

Just click on the sub-section called Specialty Products and learn about them.

And don’t forget to explore all the other Vinyl sections for more important information, more exciting products and more fashionable choices.

In a class all its own, today’s vinyl flooring is no longer the vinyl of yesterday.  Today, you are able to choose from a huge variety of innovative choices in regards to design.  If vinyl is an option in your home, please visit all of the vinyl sections available!
