Here are restaurant inspections recently performed by the Cabell-Huntington Health Department. The list is sorted by critical violations. CRITICAL VIOLATIONS

O’Charley’s, 3060 Champion Drive, Barboursville, July 31, 6, 5, Observed cross contamination from using gloved hands to place raw meat on the grill and then touching other utensils and seasoning shakers. Blueberry cheesecake in salad cooler is 45 degrees, higher than required 41 degrees. Steak and chicken in drawer cooler are 51 and 48 degrees, respectively. Several bowls and plates in the clean stack of dishes were unclean. The top portion of the tomato cutter is unclean. Prep cooler is at 56 degrees. Salad reach-in cooler is at 48 degrees. Lemon pan and ice scoop are cracked. The back door is not completely sealed. Floor tile is in poor repair on the grill line and around the walk-in cooler. Floors and walls are unclean in the kitchen and dishwashing area.

Chick-fil-A, 148 Melody Farms Road, Barboursville, July 29, 6, 2, Food employee observed improperly washing hands by touching the faucet with bare hands after washing. Employee is scooping ice with a cup. Employee noted working in food preparation/cooking area without a hair restraint. Lemonade juicer is unclean. Back chicken coolers are unclean. The side of three-bowl sink and salad cooler are not cleaned on a frequent basis. Lights located in the back part of kitchen are not shatter resistant. The walls behind the three-bowl sink and prep sink are unclean.

The Lantern, 817 4th Ave. Huntington, July 31, 4, 1, There is mold on the shield inside the ice maker. Door slides of the beer cooler on both coolers have mold growing on them. There are no towels in the dishwashing and mop sink room. Base of the toilet in ladies room is dirty. Floor is dirty in the bar and mop sink room.

NONCRITICAL VIOLATIONS

Rally’s Hamburgers, 604 5th Ave. Huntington, July 29, 9, 0, Walk-in cooler is 48 degrees, higher than requirement of 41 degrees. Lid of ice maker is in poor repair. Steel rack in the walk-in cooler is rusty and is not easily cleanable. Door gaskets on the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer are dirty. Door on employees restroom must be self closing. Door on employees restroom is in poor repair. Door on employee restroom is dirty. Light in room with ice maker doesn’t work. None of the coolers in the prep area work. Need to be removed and replaced.

Golden Corral, 5177 U.S. 60, Huntington, July 30, 7, 0, Walk-in cooler shelves are dirty. Door gaskets on walk-in prep cooler and shelves for bread cabinet are dirty. Hand sink drips constantly in the kitchen. Wall is in poor repair at sink in prep room and dish room. Wall is dirty at sink for dishes. Wall is dirty at sink in prep room and three-vat sink. Floor is dirty in the utility room and storage room.

Prestera Center, 5600 U.S. 60, Huntington, Aug. 4, 4, 0, Walk-in freezer door seal is in poor repair; heat strip needs replaced to prevent items from freezing up. The floor and wall junctures located in the kitchen area behind oven are not covered properly. There is a hole or leak in the wall/ceiling which can allow entrance of rain, wind or pests. Three-bowl sink is not bolted to the wall and also needs recaulked.

Hardee’s of Barboursville, 6022 U.S. 60, Huntington, July 30, 4, 0, Cooler in the service area is dirty. Prep cooler at the deep fryer is dirty. Door gaskets of the walk-in freezer are unclean. Wall is dirty at the mop sink.

Fat Patty’s Burgers Wings and Excellent Bar, 1935 3rd Ave. Huntington, July 30, 3, 0, The reach-in freezer’s door gaskets and seals are unclean. The shelving across from the dish machine is unclean. Mops are stored on the floor.

YMCA Kennedy Center Concession, 5800 Ohio River Road, Huntington, July 30, 3, 0, Employee noted working in food preparation cooking area without a hair restraint. Ice scoop is being stored in ice. The chili and cheese dispenser are not cleaned on a frequent basis.

Margaritas, 1315 4th Ave. Huntington, July 28, 2, 0, Cup being used as a scoop was stored in food bin. Ice scoop stored in the ice bin.

Shenandoah Family Camp of the Wesleyan Church, 2200 Charleys Creek Road, Culloden, July 30, 2, 0, White freezer door handle is in poor repair. Walls of dry storage area are in poor repair.

Barboursville Pool Concession, 721 Kuhn St. Barboursville, July 29, 2, 0, The cabinetry is not cleaned on a frequent basis. No toweling is available at hand sink.

Long John Silvers, 5644 U.S. 60, Huntington, July 30, 2, 0, Cabinet under the hand sink in the service area is in poor repair. Receptacles for storing refuse, recyclables and returnables with food inside is uncovered.
